22nd Annual International Beach & River Sweep
Beach Sweep/River Sweep -- organized by S.C. Sea Grant Consortium in partnership with S.C. Department of Natural Resources -- is the largest one-day litter cleanup of South Carolina's beaches and waterways. Last year, over 6,000 South Carolinians from the mountains, through the midlands, to the coast collected over 57 tons of trash from our waterways, covering 1,345 miles of environmentally sensitive areas. Murrells Inlet Garden City Fire Department Open House at the Inlet Firehouse
MIGCFD opens up the doors of its firehouse to the children and adults of the community. Tour the fire trucks. Get a chance to work a fire hose. Watch the firemen scale a building or use the jaws of life to save a victim in an automobile. Have a hot dog and visit with friends. It's an evening of educational fun and friendship for all! 11th Annual Lip-Rippin' Chililympics Chili Cook-Off at Spud's Waterfront
The event has earned its reputation as a "must do." Sponsored by the Surfrider Foundation, local chili chefs cook up a variety of delectable chili dishes. Held on the inlet at Spud's Waterfront Dining Parking lot on Business 17, it's a favorite event for locals and visitors. Oyster eaters belly up to the tables for an all-you-can-eat afternoon of steamed oysters. A menu of other food items and beer and soda are available. Enjoy great offerings from Dead Dog Saloon, Drunken Jack's, Divine Fish House, Bovine's, River City Cafe, The Beaver Bar and more. Entertainment and 50/50 raffle. Guaranteed a fun afternoon for all. Litter Makes Us Crabby in Murrells Inlet! Murrells Inlet 2020 sponsors the annual holiday Clean Up of Highway 17 Business and surrounding streets in Murrells Inlet.
